1. Binge-watch

Take this time for some “me time” by staying in and watching some of your favorites or finding potential new ones. Check out what’s trending on Netflix. The Umbrella Academy is one of the most talked about shows of the season and stars a grown-up, and quite sullen, Ellen Page. Spice up your break with these “super” dysfunctional siblings and their quest to stop the apocalypse. Then again, you could always rewatch The Office and prepare for your next trivia night.

2. Art museums

Grab some friends and plan a trip to any art museums to check out some cool pieces. Current exhibitions include Robert Indiana’s LOVE sculpture that is on view until March 17, 2019. If you decide to go, make sure to bring your school ID because you might just get in for free! For more details, click here.

3. Mural hunting

A mural can be found on almost every corner of downtown St. Pete. A wide variety of artists have made their mark, and it would be a great photo opportunity for a group of friends to walk around and enjoy the awesome murals. Here is a current list of the local murals.

4. Try out a new hobby

Have you been wanting to try out a new hobby? If you’re sick of the same old same old yoga, try out The Body Electric Yoga Company which offers Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga ($20 BYOB / $35 Rent a board), Yoga Poolside ($15 at the door or $10 advance registration) or Candlelight Nude Yoga for Men ($20). Over 21 and looking for something fun? Snag a Groupon deal for a local winemaking class. You can bring your friends and bring home samples ($20 per person). For some last-minute fun, try an all-levels welcome, drop-in Social Tango Lessons with Trista Brophy. College students get in for $10.

5. Beach alternatives

Sick of the same old beaches that are nearby? Try to spice up the view by planning a trip to beach alternatives in Florida. Merritt Island is situated about 70 miles south of Daytona and nearby at Canaveral National Seashore, it’s also nearby Cocoa Beach. You can stop by the manatee observation deck and maybe can even catch a glimpse of the southern bald eagle. Afterward, you can stop by the Cocoa Beach Sunday Farmer’s Market on your way to Cocoa Beach for some surfing lessons.
