Fall and spring Wellness Weeks are crucial to the health and well-being of USF St. Pete students. They can be used as an opportunity to check-in during the busyness of each semester.
This semester’s Wellness Week runs Oct. 26- Nov. 1. It offers students many ways to learn about, and stay aware of, their health.
The Wellness Center’s approach to promoting student well-being in a safe and inclusive environment includes meditation sessions, STD testing and mental health screenings.
Safe Zone Ally Training for students and staff takes place Monday from 2- 5 p.m. in the Student Life Center (SLC) 2101. Spots can be reserved by visiting usfsp.edu/wellness.
Tuesday, the Harborwalk Wellness Fair begins Oct. 29 with local health resources and giveaways from 1-2 p.m. There will be free HIV testing with quick results in SLC 2200 from 1- 3 p.m. However, an appointment must be made in advance.
Flu shots and screenings will take place on the SLC patio on Oct. 30 from 12:30- 2:30 p.m.
The Harborwalk Clothesline Project with Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA) happens on Thursday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. The project is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence. Free STD and STI testing is available in SLC 2200 on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.
