“What is the idea about opiate of the masses? What did he mean?” Kaniqua Robinson asked the audience. She was speaking about Karl Marx and, more specifically, religion as a tool for power.

USFSP hosted Brunch and Bring it Thursday with special guest Kaniqua Robinson of the anthropology department. The event was hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA), a part of their impressive lineup for Diversity Week.

Robinson spoke to guests about religion as a tool for power focusing on her research on the Florida Industrial School, also known as the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys.
