Last weekend, Pete’s General Store held its grand opening in the Historic Uptown Neighborhood with fresh flowers, homemade bagels and Katie’s Fine Cookies.

Pete’s General Store is bringing a new family-friendly atmosphere to the heart of St. Petersburg.

On top of the fresh bagels and cookies served every day, Pete’s General Store also sells a wide range of goods from local-favorites such as Little Pond Farm, The Hyppo and Posies Flower Truck.

Manager of Pete’s General, Erica Gonzalez named some of her favorite brands the store carries. Gonzalez called Stashers, a plastic-free reusable storage bag, amazing as they’re great to freeze fruits and vegetables. Other favorites of hers include Bavaro’s pasta sauce, The Matzo Project, and even The Urban Canning spreads and jams also used for their delicious bagels.

“I want people to feel like it’s their spot,” Gonzalez said.  “If they want us to start carrying something, I want people to be able to ask us and we can do our best to provide that for them.”

Pete’s General started with owners Steven and Sara Peterman. After opening their store, vendors from all over St. Pete began announcing their products would be sold at Pete’s General. A melting pot for all the locals, Pete’s General is becoming a refreshing market in the heart of St. Pete.
