Pitstop in Providence: Travel to Rhode Island

Providence, Rhode Island is like the younger, lesser-known cousin of Boston. It lacks the size of a larger city but not the character. Providence is a picturesque, New England city that’s a must-see for those heading to the Northeast.

Whether you enjoy shopping, sports, or sipping on drinks into the night, there’s something for everyone in Providence. There are tons of independent and vintage clothing stores in and around downtown. There’s also a five-story mall called Providence Place for all your mainstream shopping needs. The mall boasts beautiful views of the city. If you visit in winter, it’s a great way to spend an afternoon indoors while feeling like you’re not missing out on the view.

For fine dining, check out Federal Hill– aka Little Italy. There are over 25 restaurants in this area featuring cuisine from all over the world.

Providence is also home to some amazing universities. The Brown University campus is very picturesque with its brick buildings and sprawling quads. Visit the library to soak up all the knowledge the Ivy League has to offer. Right next to Brown is the Rhode Island School of Design, a renowned art school.

Sports fans can watch hockey at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Outdoorsy people can find refuge in one of Providence’s many parks. There is something for everyone in this charming, New England city. Next time you’re in the area, take a pitstop in Providence.
